Mashrabiya | Branding - Turkey

Mashrabiya is an Architecture and Design studio located in Istanbul, Turkey. The name is chosen upon a traditional Arabian/Middle Eastern element of Architecture, where a set of most commonly wooden structures placed against the wall functioning as a window. However, this innovation enabled habitants to both have a clear view of the street, yet the passers wouldn't be able to see what's inside, due to traditions of the given time. On the other side, the Mashrabiya -or Roshan- gave an aesthetic value and functioned also as a decorative element for both the insiders and outsiders. Therefore this element became a linker between, Interior and Exterior Design, which reflects the areas where the studio works in.
